UPDATE - Medication Administration from Medication Planner
UPDATE - When a program sets up medications in a medication planner, staff can no longer remove medications from that planner and administer to the tenant. The reason is staff is unable to compare the medication to the medication label.
Staff can hand the medication planner to the tenant and direct the tenant which day/time to take and observe the tenant with self administration from the planner.
Staff can administer the medication directly from the medication bottle received from the pharmacy.
Programs will need to update delegations with staff on how to observe tenants with self administration from a medication planner.
Programs will need to update the MAR to reflect staff handing planner to tenant and observing tenant with self administration.
HOSPICE - Assisted Living staff will not be able to administer medications set up by hospice.
